How to Create a PNR in Amadeus: Step-by-Step Guide
Creating a Passenger Name Record (PNR) in Amadeus is one of the main tasks for any travel consultant. The following steps explain how to build a complete booking from Cairo to Sharjah using EgyptAir โ from flight availability to saving the PNR.
RF (Received From) will cause the transaction to fail.
Step 1: Search for Flight Availability
This entry searches for available flights from Cairo (CAI) to Sharjah (SHJ) on 24 September with EgyptAir (MS).
The system will display available flights with their booking classes. Review the flight number, departure time, booking class and available seats before selling.

Child
Adds a child passenger named MAHMOUD HAMED, born on 11 August 2020.
HAMED/MAHMOUD is correct, HAMED / MAHMOUD will fail. Titles (MR, MRS, MS) go after the first name. Passenger type codes (INF, CHD) go in parentheses with the date of birth.
Step 4: Add Contact Information
Add Phone Number
Enter your agency phone number using APM. Replace 000000000 with the actual phone number.
Add Email Address
Add your agency email address using APE for communication and ticket delivery.
Step 5: Add Ticketing Instruction
Use TKOK to confirm that you have issued the tickets. You do not need to place the booking in a queue.
What TKOK Does
- Confirms the tickets are issued โ no ticketing reminder will be sent
- Prevents the PNR from being queued in the ticketing queue
- Removes the ticketing time limit from the PNR
TKTL followed by a date (e.g., TKTL/15NOV) to set a ticketing deadline. Use TKOK only when the ticket is already issued.
Step 6: End and Save the Booking
Record the Source
Use RF PAX to record that you received the information from the passenger.
End and Save
End and save the PNR in the system with ER. The system will display the record locator and the complete booking.
ER (End and Retrieve) rather than ET (End Transaction) when creating a new PNR, so that you can immediately verify the booking and record the locator.
