MESSAGE SIZE EXCEEDED

This error occurs for one of the following reasons:

  1. There is a space between the first name and the title in the passenger name field.
Example: PASSENGER/J MRS (space between J and MRS).
  2. Issuing tickets for all passengers at the same time causes the EDIFACT message to exceed the size limit.
  3. Some airlines may have character limits for ticketing messages, and the message size exceeds that limit.

Solution:

Step 1: Check and correct the passenger name format.

  • Remove any space between the first name and the title.
  • Example: Change PASSENGER/J MRS to PASSENGER/JMRS or PASSENGER/MRS J depending on the airline requirement.

For more details, refer to: HE NAME CHANGE

Step 2: Issue tickets one passenger at a time.

Instead of issuing all passengers together, enter:

  • TTP/P1/RT (RT keeps the PNR open)
  • Then TTP/P2/RT
  • Continue for each passenger.

This reduces the message size and avoids the error.
